Top 5 On Friday - Week 106

Top 5 songs under 3 minutes long

Fill Her (Eraserheads) – I just realized, when I check my playlist, that Eraserheads has a lot of songs under 3 minutes. I chose this song, though, since it’s the first song that comes to mind. Eraserheads had a knack for putting “fillers” in their albums, and this filler (Fill Her – Filler. Get it?) is such a nice “how-I-wish-he-is-singing-this-song-for-me” song.

Five Years (Sugar Hiccup) – clocking at 2 minutes and 59 seconds, the only line in the song was "but he will never be back…". The singer spent the better part of the song just humming, but the build up to that single line was awesomely haunting.

She (Green Day) – great to listen to when you’re feeling angsty.

About A Girl (Nirvana) – Kurt Cobain is being romantic here. Really.

Build Me Up Buttercup (The Foundations) – what else? =D

Build Me up Buttercup is a classic 60's pop tune. TASTY! (when I was a kid, my best friend and I had a little dance we made up that we'd do whenever this song was on the radio. Truly a couple of geeky kids!)

Wow...it's kinda sad that "Build Me Up Buttercup" is the only song on the list I really know. Great choices!
